We all know the cheap plastic power strips so often used to power high quality audio & video systems. It is not difficult to imagine that the power losses and pollution of the mains introduced by an inferior power strip cannot be compensated for or restored afterwards - not even by the best audiophile power cords available. There are many types of audiophile power strips available. Most, however, use common connections or rails for phase, neutral and earth.
This means that the quality of the supply to the first outlet influences the supply to following outlets, and vice versa.
| The Kemp Elektroniks POWER STRIP eliminates this problem by using star wiring (i.e. wiring originating from one point) for the phase, neutral and earth. Each outlet has its own supply connected with 3 x 2.5 mm² (13 AWG) wires. The wires used are special KE-POWER WIRE. The use of fuses or switches in the power strip is deliberately avoided, as both clearly compromise dynamics and sound quality. The high quality aluminium housing, which has an advanced earth circuit protects, against EMI/RFI.
The power strip is also equipped with the KE-SNS ("Shunt Noise Suppressor") MODULE. This is located directly at the input (star wiring point) of the KE-POWER STRIP. The most important advantage of this type of parallel noise suppressor is that there are no components (e.g. coils) connected in series with the outlets. The parallel noise suppression technology of the KE-POWER STRIP provides for a very clean and spacious reproduction, with much richer and stronger bass. |

To get the best results from the KE-POWER STRIP it is necessary to have it connected to the mains with the correct polarity. The red dot on the power plug has to be at the phase side of the (wall) outlet. This will make the phase correspond with the phase indicators on the power outlets of the KE-POWER STRIP. Due to lack of standardisation this is not applicable in the UK and USA (you can open the plugs and switch the wiring manually though).
The order of connecting components to any power strip always affects the results in terms of both sound and/or picture quality. Although the unique star wiring of the KE-POWER STRIP strongly reduces this, we advise the following order based on extensive listening tests:

Amplifier(s) and subwoofer if present.

Pre-amplifier.

CD or DVD player (with a separate system connect the DAC before the transport) .

Tuner, Video or TV.

Turntable.
Mounting plates to fix the KE-POWER STRIP to a wall or underneath a table can be ordered without extra charge.
The prices listed below are for one KE-POWER STRIP with 4 outlets and 1.5m (5ft) KE-POWER CORD, and excluding sales tax (i.e. VAT, Mwst., BTW) and shipping.
Other lengths of KE-POWER CORD to connect the POWER STRIP to your mains and more outlets can both be selected from the available options. For optimal results you should use KE-POWER CORDS for connecting your equipment to the KE-POWER STRIP.

The KE-POWER STRIP PLUS is basically the same as the standard KE-POWER STRIP but with all contacts Gold plated for better conductivity (in- and outlets), additionally built-in Quantum Appoach module and standard supplied with 1.5m (5ft) KE-POWER CORD PLUS. All to improve the performance of the standard KE-POWER STRIP even further.
