Many lovers of audio and/or video are familiar with the phenomenon of their system performing significantly better during the night and at weekends than it does at other times. This is due to the fact that during these off-peak hours there are fewer consumers using electricity, creating less distortion of the mains supply.

For some people this distortion is of such concern that they opt to power their systems using battery power supplies (occasionally going completely “off grid”!) – a key feature of our digital audio products. Others go to great lengths to install ‘dedicated’ mains supplies for their systems. Yet others use products designed to improve the quality of the available mains supply. Some use a combination of all three approaches.
Despite this, many people remain skeptical about what a good quality mains supply can do to increase their musical enjoyment, and take no interest in products that "improve" mains quality. At
BD-Design we understand these thoughts, having been skeptics ourselves for a long time while there wasn't much equipment around that convinced us of the genuine improvements that could be made in this area.
However, our skepticism disappeared after we tried the products from Kemp Elektroniks that we now represent. We’ve found we can't really enjoy listening to our systems when they’re not connected through Kemp’s mains cables and filters - they really do make a big difference. Now we have no doubts - a really good sound starts with a clean mains supply!
